Just Breathe: Art As a Way of Healing

When featured artists Dr. Julian Alexander, an Ophthalmologist and wife Karen a nurse, retired they were looking for a new direction and focus in their life. When the pandemic hit and they were shut in they decided to take some online zoom watercolor classes, and this has led to a life-changing journey through their incredible watercolor art, each with wonderful styles of impressionist, abstract and stylized art pieces. The Alexanders are debuting their amazing art in the Main Event Gallery's exhibit, Just Breathe: Art As A Way to Heal. The event, sponsored by the Tehama County Arts Council is taking place in conjunction with Tehama County's Mental Health Awareness month. As part of that exhibit, community and Gallery artists have created art as a means of bringing a focus on the importance of our mental health. An Artists Reception will be held Friday, May 13, 5:30-7:30 pm. The Gallery is housed in the Neoclassical-Style Historic Bank building, circa, 1925.
